2017 Employment Leadership Award Nomination

The Employment Leadership Award Committee invites you to nominate your business or a business partner for the 2017 Employment Leadership Award.

 

The Employment Leadership Award is presented each year to New Hampshire Business who recognize the skills and contributions that people with disabilities bring to the workforce and who have adopted inclusive policies and hiring practices that allow people with disabilities to fairly compete for employment.

 

Nominees are submitted by employment providers and businesses throughout New Hampshire and nominations are evaluated based on the company’s efforts to: create opportunities that assist people with disabilities to develop the skills they need to obtain competitive integrated employment; adopt inclusive hiring practices that allow people with disabilities to fairly compete for employment; and engage community partners to become a more diverse workplace.

 

The 2017 Employment Leadership Award winners will be featured in a special section appearing in the September 2017 issue of Business NH Magazine and formally recognized at the Ninth Annual State-wide Employer Recognition Ceremony to be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester.

 

Nominations are due Friday, June 2, 2017 and will only be accepted by email at Jim.Hinson@doe.nh.gov. To apply, fill out attached ELA Nomination Form. Please send nomination in “word format” as an attached file. Nominations in PDF format will not be accepted.

 

*Note* Previous Employment Leadership Award Winners may be re-nominated at 5-year intervals.

1. Please provide a brief description of the employer, its main business activities and its mission statement. (250 words or less)

 

2. Describe the employer’s efforts to: create opportunities that assist people with disabilities to develop the skills they need to obtain competitive employment; adopt inclusive hiring practices that allow people with disabilities to fairly compete for employment; and engage community partners to become a more diverse workplace.  Please highlight examples of people with disabilities meeting the needs of the employer and explain why the employer should receive the 2017 Employment Leadership Award.  (750 words or less)

 

*Note* All nominations must be received by June 2, 2017 and interviews completed before June 30, 2017.  Any nomination received or interviews not completed by the deadline date, will not be considered for eligible for the 2017 Employment Leadership Award.
