2007 - 2008
To: Human Resources Colleagues
From: Alison Kivikoski, President
On behalf of the Manchester Area Human Resources Association (MAHRA) Board of Directors, I would like to extend an invitation to you to join our Association. MAHRA is an energetic and fun business organization that:
• provides human resource professionals with opportunities to develop leadership/managerial skills
• provides HRCI certified educational sessions to help members maintain their professional certifications
• provides a forum focused on current human resources management and legal compliance issues
• provides a forum for networking and the exchange of knowledge and ideas
• offers a variety of cutting edge and fun professional development opportunities
MAHRA members consist of human resources professionals at all levels representing private/public sector and profit/non-profit employers. Our association offers excellent programming based on our members valued input and feedback. We are fortunate to have the commitment and dedication of a wonderful Board that dedicates significant energy and time to help our organization achieve its goals while advancing the profession.
MAHRA is a professional non profit organization and is your local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management representing more than 200,000 individual members. Our association is clearly a leader in the state from a number of perspectives including membership, programs and community involvement. As a culmination of our achievements we have received our tenth Superior Merit Award from the Society of Human Resource Management.
On September 20, 2007, we will have next year’s kick off meeting entitled “Managing Your Focus – It’s Not About Time”, which will be held in partnership with the Human Resources Association – Greater Concord. It will feature Pam Vaccaro, MA, CSP, who challenges individuals and companies to rethink traditional time management and provides insights on how to adjust to the revolutionary effects technology has had on managing time and staying organized. This program promises to be a great success and is open to the general public. Invite your managers and supervisors so that they too can walk away with quick tips and long range solutions on managing time.
Please take the opportunity to visit both the MAHRA (www.MAHRA.org) and SHRM (www.shrm.org) websites to see the latest on what’s happening in the human resources field. Feel free to contact me directly at (akivikoski@cgibenefitsgroup.com) if you have any questions.
