It Was Never About Time Management Anyway!, presented by Pam Vaccaro, MA, CSP
Date: September 20, 2007
Time: 7:30 am - 11:30 am
Location: Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH
Cost is $25.00 for members and $45.00 for non-members
$375.00 for a table of 10
It Was Never About Time Management Anyway!
After interviewing hundreds of individuals over the last 10 years, Pam noticed a disturbing refrain—“I was so incredibly busy today, and I got nothing done!” Interviewees recorded that it was impossible to get things done and felt frustrated that email, pagers, human expectations, and even their need for sleep “demanded” so much time—time they did not have! Pam has termed this dilemma—FDD—Focus Deficit Disorder—the deficiency we feel from having so many demands our attention. Meeting professionals have a constant demand for their attention.
Pam shows how to change your focus off of time management and move to a more effective focus on managing your attention. She presents both big picture solutions and practical applications to accomplish this new direction. Pam challenges traditional time management and suggests new ways to set priorities, handle interruptions, plan meetings and use your best time of day. Pam presents specific ways to feel more satisfaction from your workday and more enjoyment from your hours volunteering.
This presentation takes another creative look at attention from a different angle. An important component of this program for meeting professionals is Pam’s introduction of how to respond to the growing need for human attention in our technological revolution. Attention is quickly becoming a critical marketing advantage. Pam provides some “quick tips” on how to maximize this concept in the meetings industry.
Pam Vaccaro, MA, CSP
Pam Vaccaro is president of Designs on Time. She challenges individuals and companies to rethink traditional time management and then provides insights on how to adjust to the revolutionary effects technology has had on managing time and staying organized.
Pam Vaccaro’s insightful and non-traditional approach to time management brings her presentations to audiences internationally. Pam has often been the person meeting planners recommend when they are looking for something different especially on a somewhat worn topic like “time management.”
Pam’s articles appear in national publications demonstrating visionary, futuristic, and highly practical ways to manage your time and organize your workspace
Articles about Pam’s ideas have also appeared in hundreds of journals as diverse as Medical Economics, Cardiology Today, Good Housekeeping, and Redbook. She is frequently quoted in magazines, newspapers, and newsletters for her research in personality and time management as well as her most recent work on “attention management.”
Pam holds a Masters degree in training and development and has received the Certified Speaking Professional recognition from the National Speakers Association. She is one of only 145 women to hold this honor in the international speaking community.
She has authored a book that has nothing to do with time management called Beyond the Ice Cream Cone; The Whole Scoop on Food at the 1904 World’s Fair.

Some of the topics of discussion are:
Availability of HDHPs in NH
Updated carrier options related to HDHPs and advantages/disadvantages of each
The integration of Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs) into HDHP’s

Recruiting – Retention – Resilience
Bernadette Kenny, Adecco Group
North America's Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Career
Officer
March 4, 2008
Time: Registration at 5:30 pm. Program at 6:00
Location: CR Sparks, Bedford
Pre-registration cost is $30 for members and $40 for non-members
Registration at Door is $40 for members and $50 for non-members
Today’s workplace requires integrating the goals of recruitment, retention, and resilience. Sourcing the best talent for a particular organization, building retention programs designed for that talent, and incorporating components of career resiliency into both programs can be major goals for any organization. When properly integrated, employees brought into an organization and those tenured employees will share common values, insight into how to succeed, and how to manage change.
There are many components of these goals including, but not limited to sourcing, behavioral interviewing, background checks, incentive plans, career development plans, performance management and change management.
This workshop will explore how to identify the stages of an organization’s life, its recruiting and sourcing focus, developing a talent philosophy and career management message. Each organization today is unique and what is “best” for one organization will not be a solution for others. And, importantly, what is “best” for a particular employee, is not “best” for all. This workshop will be interactive, and designed to invite the participants to share their experiences and most successful practices.
Solution discussions – Facilitating our workshop will be Bernadette Kenny, Adecco Group North America’s Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Career Officer. In this newly created role, she is responsible for the human resources functions for the brands of Lee Hecht Harrison, Ajilon Professional and Ajilon Consulting as well as Adecco General Staffing. Adecco is the global leader in staffing and workforce solutions.
Prior to her current role, Bernadette was Chief Global Sales and Marketing Officer of Adecco’s subsidiary, Lee Hecht Harrison, responsible for business development for global accounts and leveraging the brand and services.
