President's Welcome Letter

2011 - 2012

To: Manchester Area Human Resources Association Members

From: Michael J. Klyop, SPHR, MAHRA President

Welcome to the MAHRA, “Where HR Professionals Connect, Develop and Lead”. I’m excited to begin my role as your President and to continue to serve and give back to the HR Profession in the greater Manchester area. I began with MAHRA 5 years ago as your Secretary, then moved into VP of Programming, and then the most recent role of President-Elect. It’s been my honor to learn as much as I have under all the Board Members that served with me.

Our association has continued to lead in our profession in many ways. We’ve worked hard on delivering high quality and value of our monthly programs to our members. We’ve committed to our efforts via our members solicited feedback on topics that matter to you. We’ve also worked hard to incorporate what is important to all of us in developing our professional bonds, the opportunity to network with your peers.

Samples of our accomplishments this last year have included:

  • Master level college partnership with Franklin Pierce University.
  • Delivering on HR Articles to Business NH Magazine.
  • Workforce Readiness Initiative that has expanded significantly
  • Inroads, outreach, and partnership with our Small Business Initiative
  • HRCI Scholarships
  • Social Media efforts
  • Strong leadership in our Legal & Regulator Affairs
  • Completion of a 2-Year partnership with Easter Seals

All of this and more is not possible without a strong base of members and those that have decided to give back to our profession on our committees and board of directors. I would encourage anyone who is thinking about joining MAHRA, getting involved with our committees or board, or would like to just give us feedback, to do so. We want to provide the opportunity for you to get the most out of your membership.

Please take the time to attend our meetings. We have a full range of monthly meetings, statewide conference, and also a joint meeting with GC-HRA. Our topics will be fresh and vary based on our member’s input. You will also be please with the quality, HRCI credits, and opportunity to strengthen your network. And, don’t forget to spread the word throughout your professional network about MAHRA.

On the behalf of the board of directors, we welcome you.

Sincerely,

Michael J. Klyop, SPHR
President, MAHRA
