President's Welcome Letter
To: Manchester Area Human Resources Association Members
From: Tina M Sharby, SHRM-CP, PHR, President Elect
As the incoming President for MAHRA, I would like to take this moment to thank our board members for their hard work and commitment to their various roles and responsibilities over the past year. I am honored to work with a group of talented individuals who are dedicated and engaged in promoting the human resources profession. I consider myself very fortunate to have this opportunity to represent our members and will work hard to meet your expectations.
We have a lot to be proud of. Over the last year we continued to experience record growth, maintaining membership at over 215 members. We were honored as a 2014 SHRM Chapter Champion. The professional development committee has worked hard to align the program calendar and meeting formats to be in line with your feedback. The first Master Series program was introduced and designed for the senior level HR professional. The New Hampshire Food Bank has been selected as our charitable partner for the next two years.
Over the next year, your MAHRA board will focus on engaging our membership, offering activities and initiatives that are more strategic in nature and more reflective of what our membership has requested. We will continue to expand our member services, advocate for our profession on legislative affairs, increase our visibility in the community, continue our Master Series, and incorporate breakout sessions and panel discussions in our meetings. We are also adding a new member appreciation event!
I would appreciate hearing from you and encourage you to reach out to me at firstname.lastname@example.org or speaking with me at one of our regularly scheduled program meetings.
Tina M Sharby, SHRM-CP, PHR
