Special Program Event NH Legislative Update
SPECIAL PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT
FROM THE PRESIDENT OF MAHRA – MIKE KLYOP
Manchester Area Human Resources Association (MAHRA) and the State Council of New Hampshire are excited to introduce a special program event with several FIRST of its kind activities in the State of New Hampshire. Through a combined effort, MAHRA and the New Hampshire State Council will be having a Legislative Conference and keynote from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), SHRM’s own Director of Government Affairs, Mike Aitken.
Our very own MAHRA and New Hampshire’s HR State Council VP of Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, Jim Reidy, we lead our day with a New Hampshire Legislative Update. Be prepared to learn about top legislative topics in session or on the horizon in the State of New Hampshire, top governmental legislative efforts effecting HR Professionals and the Business Community in 2012 & beyond, and direct impact of current legislative topics on our day-to-day work activities.
Our Keynote Speaker will be Mike Aitken’s presentation about continuing legislative initiatives of importance to HR Professionals in the areas of health care reform, paid parental leave, comprehensive immigration reform, employment eligibility and job creation. This presentation will also provide an up-to-date discussion on current federal regulatory activity.
SHRM’s Mike Aitken will be providing Advocacy Training to all those in attendance and helping the State of NH HR Community become an early adopter in our ability to become engaged HR Professionals in advocacy at the State Level. As part of this exciting training, our event will host an afternoon at New Hampshire’s Capital building to visit your legislators, discuss bills, and attend hearings.
At the end of this exciting day, we will have a reception to celebrate a great day of exciting FIRST in the State of New Hampshire. This is such a great opportunity to learn more about New Hampshire and Federal Legislative & Regulatory Activities, advocacy training, and visit our own New Hampshire Capital all on the same day!!!
